LOCATION: Boise, Idaho
Idaho: QB Matt Linehan has thrown for 2,803 yards and 15 touchdowns and averages 247.2 yards in total offense.
Colorado State: WR Michael Gallup is an All-MWC first-team pick after catching 70 balls for 1,164 yards and a conference-leading 11 touchdowns.
Idaho: The Vandals are in their second-to-last season as a Bowl Subdivision member. They are dropping to the Championship Subdivision in 2018. This year's record is their best since 2009.
Colorado State: The Rams started 2-3 but won five of their last seven to become bowl eligible for a fourth straight year.
Colorado State won 36-34 in 2010 on Ben DeLine's 35-yard field goal as time expired.
Idaho is 2-0, having played in the predecessor to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, the Humanitarian Bowl, in 2009 and 1998.
Colorado State is 6-9 in bowls and playing in the Famous Idaho Potato for the first time.
